Overview

What is Fitness & Athletic Development?

Fitness & Athletic Development is Ignite Tennis’s physical-performance programme, developing the speed, strength, movement and resilience that underpin good tennis. Based at Finchley Manor’s gym facilities in north London, it supports players across the pathway, from juniors building coordination and athleticism to performance players preparing for the demands of competition.

Delivered alongside on-court coaching, sessions focus on tennis-specific movement, injury prevention and long-term athletic development appropriate to each player’s age and stage. It’s the physical side of the Ignite programme that helps players move better, hit harder and stay injury-free.

It integrates directly with Performance Tennis and Junior Development, so on-court and physical work pull in the same direction.
