A busy fortnight of LTA Grade 3 tennis for Ignite Tennis players across Finchley Manor and Conway, and a haul to show for it: two titles at Georgians, a run to the U16 final, and a doubles pair who made two finals at Gosling in the same week. Here is how everyone got on.

Alex Edwards – double champion at Georgians

he stand-out week. Alex won the Grade 3 Men’s Open and the U18 singles at Georgians, taking two titles from the same event. Beating a senior open field and a full U18 draw back to back is a serious return, and exactly the kind of week the performance pathway is built for.

Niki Pandov – U16 Grade 3 champion at Georgians

Niki went the distance in the U16 Grade 3 draw at Georgians and came away with the title. A second Ignite winner at the same event, and a strong marker heading into the autumn term.

Holly Brewster — U16 runner-up after a three-set final

Holly reached the U16 Grade 3 final at Georgians and lost a tight three-setter to Allegra. Finals are where players find out what they are made of, and a close three-set loss at Grade 3 level is progress, not a setback.

Savva and Abel – back-to-back doubles finals at Gosling

The pick of the week for consistency. Savva and Abel reached the final of the 16U boys’ doubles at the Gosling Grade 3 early in the week, then went back out and reached the 14U boys’ doubles final as well. Two finals, one week, one pairing — and a partnership that is clearly working.

What is an LTA Grade 3 tournament?

p Grade 3 is a competitive tier of the LTA’s British Tour and junior tournament structure, sitting above county-level Grade 4 and 5 events. Players earn national ranking points, and draws typically attract regionally and nationally ranked juniors. Ignite Tennis players compete on the Grade 3 circuit from our two north London bases at Finchley Manor and Conway Lawn Tennis Club.
